Sick of School!

(Poor little guy)
Okay, we aren't sick of school....but school is sure making us sick. Corbin has always been a healthy kid. We've hardly ever had to take him to the doctor because he's sick.

Well, that all changed once he started school. He has been going to preschool for about 3 1/2 months and has already had bronchitis twice, pink eye, stomach flu, and a few other random colds. This is not the healthy boy I sent out into the world (smile). Is this normal? Maybe he has had too sheltered a life (sigh) and this is just an initiation for his immune system? Tell me, will the germs ever end, because we are sick of being sick.

Noodle Time

Corbin loves pasta. My camera isn't working right now so I dug up this picture from the first time he ate spaghetti. He is about 1 year old. Now he's 31/2 and his love for noodles lives on.

Tonight while I was feeding Cooper his last bottle of the night, Corbin made himself a snack. He opened the fridge, found the left over noodles, opened the container they were in, dumped them onto a plastic plate, dragged a chair over to the microwave, put his plate in, pushed the 30second button, got off the chair, got out a fork, put it on the table, heard the ding that the noodles were done, climbed back onto the chair, took out his plate, got off the chair and over to the table with out spilling anything and shouted "Noodle Time!"

He is my little cook that knows what he wants- when he wants it and apparently can get it done all by himself. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't been sitting on the couch watching the entire thing. I think he'll make a great husband someday....he's not afraid to help out in the kitchen (smile).

GoOd VibrAtioNs?

I don't know why but Derek and I never get good service. When we go out to eat our drinks rarely get filled up again and we often need to have someone else track down our server so we can get our bill. Even in nice places.

Once we ordered ice cream sundaes (the server makes those herself you know) and instead of making our order she decided to take her lunch break. We waited 30 min. before we noticed her sitting at a booth eating... so we just left.

Twice at the doctors office, with the kids, I waited almost an hour before the nurse said "Sorry, I forgot you were here". What! Are you Kidding me! What is it with us. Are we putting out some kind of vibe. We are both nice and polite. It's not like we are rude & make people not want to help us and we don't leave the house expecting to be treated badly. So what are we doing wrong?

Here is the latest in our list of bad experiences. Today installers came to redo doors that they did a month ago, because they cut them too short. So we arranged to be home all morning. They got here and started to take the old doors out so they could cut the new ones....and they realize that they don't have the right tools in the truck. Now, this is what they do all day, every day, install doors, and they don't have the right tools? How does that happen? So we had to reschedule for a week from now and in the mean time we have to store 6 doors. Are we really the only ones that this stuff happens too? Sorry, just venting.....I feel better now.

I heart Derek and his Sister too

I have a darling husband and wonderful sister (in-law). Derek planned a little getaway for us to celebrate my birthday. He took me to a great hotel for the night and scheduled a spa day for me there and had reservations at a fancy little restaurant.

Everything was perfect and wouldn't have been possible if Erin wasn't willing to come stay the night with our boys. She even got up at 6:30 to get Corbin off the school. He had a great time with his "Aunt Ern" and Cooper wasn't sure who he wanted to hold him when we got home. He kept leaning from Erin's arms to mine and then back again.

So, ThAnk YoU to my sweet honey and his fun sister for the great gift. It was so delicious to sleep until 10:30 (what a treat) and knowing the kids were in great hands made it really easy to relax. I love you both. (Erin I plan to return to favor to you someday!)

I also want to add a ThAnK YoU to my parents who come over Saturday night so Derek and I could enjoy a dinner, out child free. They even vacuumed and folded a pile of clean laundry. Wow, do I have a great family! I felt pampered this year for sure.
